Manuel Lugo

Manuel Lugo, age 70, of Houston entered eternal rest on September 7, 2022. He was born on March 30, 1952 to Jose Angel Lugo Rodriguez and Juana Cortez Palomo. Our dad was tough, self-sufficient, and hard working. He used his hands to build, his eyes to study his surroundings, his legs to keep moving forward, his head to steer him in the right direction, his heart to give him purpose and his back to carry the weight of the world. Dad would enjoy listening to music to help get through the hardships of the day, to remember his past, to help him laugh, to love and most importantly to understand life. He was a small-town man who lived in a big city. Any chance he could get, he enjoyed driving through unpaved dirt roads, the smell of worn leather belts, seeing cowboys rope calves, listening to the howling coyotes at night, and waking up to early cooler mornings with Folger's coffee and Mexican sweet bread. Living in a big city, he grew to love what it offered: Major League Baseball, Whataburger, construction sites, Ford automobiles, the Houston Rodeo, and the Nutcracker Market. He believed that the best and finest products are bought in the smallest shops handmade by local hardworking people. After dad retired, he enjoyed traveling and watching the terrain change from valley, tundra, swamp, sea, river, plain, ocean, mountain, lake, hill, mountains, grasslands, village, and city. He never thought he would ever travel to places like Mexico, San Francisco CA, Oregon, Austin, Vancouver, Niagara Falls, Louisiana, Tombstone Arizona, Disney World, Legoland, Seattle, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Amarillo, Buffalo NY, San Antonio, and many more. Most importantly what he valued most were his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The love for his family motivated him to always find a way to provide and support his children the best way he knew how. Dad was loved by many friends and family and would say that laughter was the best medicine. He also believed that with every new generation there is progress, change, and growth from that of the previous generation. Dad always encouraged us on the importance of making our dreams a reality, working hard, and taking the time to travel and enjoy life. Manuel is survived by his children: Juan Manuel Lugo, Martha Guerrero, Arnulfo Lugo, Roy Lugo, Janie Aguinaga, Manuel Lugo Jr, Patricia L. Garcia, and Anita Lugo; Son and Daughter In-Laws: Benito Guerrero, Martha Lugo, Enrique Aguinaga, and Amadio Garcia; Grandchildren: Linda Guerrero, Angel Guerrero, Valerie B. Lugo, Zariah E. Garcia, Naomi S. Lugo, Oscar Guerrero, Nayeli A. Lugo, Daniel Lugo, Samuel Lugo, Enrique Aguinaga Jr, Ariel Y. Lugo, Joseph Aguinaga, L. Edward Calvillo, Hermelinda I. Lugo, Haylie I. Lugo, Oliver M. Garcia, Janie Aguinaga, Magdalena Lugo, Roy Lugo, and Roy C. Lugo; Great Grandchildren: Liliana Faith Guerrero, Rocket Blaze Ngo, and Katana Belle Ngo; Mother: Juana Cortez; and Siblings: Cayetano Miguel Lugo and Maria Santos Cazares.
