Bernardino Hernandez

Bernardino Hernandez went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2025, at the age of 85. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones, at his home in Houston, Texas. Bernardino was born on May 20, 1940, in Lagunillas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. In 1962, he married the love of his life Aurora Montoya, thereafter, they began the journey of building their marriage and starting their family legacy in the United States. His life was driven by a deep sense of responsibility to provide a strong foundation for his family. This purpose led him to immigrate to San Juan, Texas where with the support from family, he became a farmer and eventually finding his way to be a potato farmer for LV Gray Farms in Nampa, Idaho. It was in Nampa where he found his devotion to God and led his family to Christ. However, feeling the need to be closer to family in Mexico, Bernardino made the decision to call Houston home. Here he established himself as a roofer for 40 plus years where he gave opportunities to people that needed it just like it was given to him. As a dedicated member of El Tabernáculo Assembly of God Church, Bernardino served in the church for over 50 years where he was also a member of the Men’s Ministry. His unwavering faith and wisdom enriched the lives of all who knew him, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of his family and community. Bernardino was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will deeply be missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Aurora Hernandez; his six children and their spouses; his 15 grandchildren; and his 3 great-grandchildren: *Son Oscar Hernandez and his wife, Gloria, their children: Melissa, Esther, Anabel, and Oscar Elias, and grandson Noah. *Son Ricardo Hernandez and his wife, Maria Ines, their children: Vanesa and Ricardo Jr. and his wife Aracely. *Daughter Beatrice Delgado and her husband, Freddy, their children: Jaclyn, Christian and his wife Graciela, grandson Adriel, and grandbaby due February 2026. *Daughter Olivia Leal and children: Kikos and Breana and her fiancé Andy Ochoa *Son Daniel Hernandez and his wife, Mary, their sons: Alex and Ethan. *Daughter Esther Gonzales and her husband, Luis Jr., their sons: Luis III, Mateo, and David. Viewing will be on Monday, August 4th from 6pm-7pm followed by a Celebration of Life Service from 7pm-9pm at Tabernáculo Assembly of God Church, 10020 Bauman Road, Houston Texas 77076. Church service will be on Tuesday, August 5th at 10:30am at Tabernáculo Assembly of God Church on Bauman Road followed by a procession to his final resting place at Calvary Hill Cemetery 21723 Aldine Westfield Rd., Houston Texas 77338. In honor of Bernardino’s deep love for his wife, Aurora, who he often showered with flowers, we invite you to bring flowers to the service, filling her day with the same love and beauty that has held them together for over six decades. Though Bernardino’s presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of faith, hard work, and strength will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Falleció en paz, rodeado de su familia y seres queridos, en su casa de Houston, Texas. Bernardino nació el 20 de Mayo de 1940 en Lagunillas, San Luis Potosí, México. En 1962, se casó con el amor de su vida, Aurora Montoya, y a partir de entonces comenzaron el viaje deconstruir su matrimonio y comenzar su legado familiar en los Estados Unidos. Su vida estuvo impulsada por un profundo sentido de la responsabilidad de proveer una fundación sólida para su familia. Este propósito lo llevó a emigrar a San Juan, Texas, donde con el apoyo de su familia, se convirtió en agricultor y eventualmente encontró su camino para ser un agricultor de papas para LV Gray Farms en Nampa, Idaho. Fue en Nampa donde encontró su devoción por Dios y llevó a su familia a Cristo. Sin embargo, sintiendo la necesidad de estar más cerca de su familia en México, Bernardino tomó la decisión de establecer su hogar en Houston. Aquí se estableció como techador durante más de 40 años, donde dio oportunidades a personas que las necesitaban, tal y como se le habían dado a él.
