Evelyn Sustaita Garza

Mrs. Evelyn Sustaita Garza of Harlingen, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the age of 75. She was a beloved mother of four daughters and widow to Guadalupe R. Garza. Our mom was loved by so many whose lives she touched. It was in her nature to care for others and always offer her help. She loved to talk to everyone and always enjoyed a good laugh with you and talking about old times. She was a woman of very strong faith in God and never missed an opportunity to give Him praise or spread His word in conversation. A strong and independent woman she was indeed. Quick to stand up for what she believed was right. It was these special characteristics of hers that she passed down to her daughters. Most importantly that we are never alone. She always reminded us that God is always with us and to always keep Him first in our lives above all else. As she always said, "We are only here temporary until we are called home by God. Make the best of each day and love one another. Until we meet again." She very much missed her beloved husband, Guadalupe R. Garza, and longed to be with him again as she spoke of him many times since his passing, even continuing to write him love notes that she kept for herself. We know she is finally in peace and without heartache as she is reunited with her husband or her "babe" as she most fondly called him. Our mom will be missed by us all tremendously and will be forever remembered through the beautiful lasting memories she left each of us. Evelyn is survived by her four daughters: Edna Lynn Hernandez(Michael R. Hernandez), Diane Salinas(Gary Strodtbeck), Denise Salinas and Margarita Garza Jaramillo(Brandon S. Jaramillo). Grandchildren: Marissa Lynn Hernandez, Joshua Samuel Strodtbeck, Bonnie Catherine Strodtbeck, Timothy Joseph Strodtbeck, Grace Elizabeth Strodtbeck, Melinda Hernandez, Evelynn Yavonne Jaramillo, Joaquin Guadalupe Jaramillo and Gonzalo Maximilian Jaramillo. Great grandchildren: Amaya Nicole Martinez, Isabella Angel Monge and Raphael Angel Monge Jr. Siblings: Mary Dalton, Vira Hatherly(Walt Hatherly Jr.) Joe Sustaita, Sam Sustaita and Tom Sustaita(Terry Sustaita).
