Martina Garcia

Martina García entered into the arms of Our Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Houston, Texas, at the age of 52. Martina is survived by her three children, Jadira (Miguel) Riojas, Jesse (Nina) Villanueva, and Oswaldo (Jandi) Villanueva. Her 12 grandchildren, Joseph Isaiah Ayala, Mia Isabelle Riojas, Ethan Miguel Riojas, Alyssa Mariah Villanueva, Nino Joel Villanueva, Gina Hernandez, Alexis Marie Grimaldo, Martina Anelly Villanueva, Mathew Aden Villanueva, Anthony Nelson Villanueva, Avery Michelle Villanueva, and soon to be baby boy Houston A. Villanueva. She is also survived by her loving mother Rosa Gavilanes, and her step-father Joel Torres. Her siblings Guadalupe (Guadalupe) Guzman, Gloria Garcia, José Rafael (Nora) Garcia, María de Jesús (Sergio) Lira, Rosalia García, Vicente (Alejandra)Torres, and Josefina Torres, and numerous of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Rafael Garcia, and her grandparents Alejandrina and Octavio Gavilanes. Martina Garcia was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on March 24, 1966. Martina was a woman full of life. Her character was noble, loving, giving, and grand. She centered her affection and love upon her family. She would do anything and give anything to make someone happy. She was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and loved her children and grandchildren very much. She also loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her company. She was also known as a great cook, and cooked for our family events. Pozole, potato salad, chicken salad, tinga, and charro beans were only some of the family’s favorite dishes. She instilled love, affection, and independence to her children. She was very well known for her good sense of humor. She always had a joke for any occasion. The legacy she leaves behind is to learn to forgive and be forgiven. Martina will be kept in our hearts forever. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. Martina era una mujer llena de vida. Su personaje era noble, cariñoso, generoso y grandioso. Ella centró su afecto y amor en su familia. Haría cualquier cosa y daría cualquier cosa por hacer feliz a alguien. Ella era una madre devota y amorosa. Estaba muy orgullosa de su familia y amaba mucho a sus hijos y nietos. También amaba las dias festivos y las reuniones familiares; cualquier oportunidad de pasar tiempo con su familia era importante para ella. Pasaba horas cocinando y preparándose para su compañía. También era conocida como una gran cocinera y cocinada para nuestros eventos familiares. Pozole, ensalada de papa, ensalada de pollo, tinga y frijoles charro fueron solo algunos de los platillos favoritos de la familia. Ella inculcó amor, afecto e independencia a sus hijos. Ella era muy conocida por su buen sentido del humor. Ella siempre tenía una broma para cualquier ocasión. El legado cultural que deja atrás es aprender a perdonar y ser perdonado. Martina se mantendrá en nuestros corazones para siempre. Ella será extrañada por todos los que la conocían y amaban.
