Roque Antonio Vega

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Roque Antonio Vega, on Friday April 5, 2019, at the age of 19. Roque was born on August 10, 1999, in Humble, Texas. Roque enjoyed time with friends and family, Disney World vacations, spending time outdoors, and listening to music. In Roque’s short life here with us, he touched the lives of many. Without saying a word, he was able to teach, open eyes and open hearts. Roque taught us how to love without limits, without words and without reasons. Roque’s eyes were so very trusting and welcoming, he never appeared to meet a stranger. His smile and his laughter would brighten the darkest day. He displayed superhero strengths to smile, even when he didn’t feel well. Roque gave us the gift of unconditional love. Unconditional love is loving even when it hurts and even when it’s not easy. It’s loving because you simply can’t help but to love. The greatest triumph of any life is to love and be loved. Roque is survived by his father Roque Vega, wife Eli, siblings Carlos, Kenia and Leonardo, grandmother Maria, mother Raquel Ruiz, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friend/caregiver Imelda Ramos. Roque will be lovingly remembered by family, friends, teachers, caregivers, and nurses Michelle and Alyse. A celebration of Roque’s life will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019, 9:00 am to 10:15 am, 401 Ssgt Santana Macario Garcia Drive Houston, Texas 77011, followed by interment 11:00 am at Brookside Memorial Park 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Family will receive visitors Sunday April 7, 2019, from 3pm to 7pm at 401 Ssgt Santana Macario Garcia Drive Houston, Texas 77011. I’m Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life's been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch, Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
