Victor Rocha

Victor G. Rocha 1954-2019 Passed in peace Saturday, May 11th 2019 at the age of 65 after a 29-year battle with Lupus. Victor is preceded in death by his parents Roberto and Adelina Rocha and brother Lonnie Rocha. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sylvia Castillo Rocha; son, Anthony Rocha; daughter, Adrianne Feller (Jeffrey) of League City, TX; his two beloved grandchildren, Roman and Ava Perez; his brothers Mario Rocha (Kathy) from Louisiana and Robert Rocha Sr. from Houston, TX; his nephews and nieces; and many relatives and friends. His funeral service will be held this Thursday, May 16th at Santana Funeral Directors in Baytown, Texas. Victor was born February 13th, 1954 in Kingsville, Texas. Victor met his beautiful wife Sylvia and the two were married on September 10th 1983. He led a career as a machinist for Baker Hughes, a tool and dye maker for TRICO, and a machinist for AMBOX Inc. until he became disabled in 1993 due to his illness. Despite having Lupus, he continued to lead a joy-filled life. Once a ball player himself, Victor was very involved with coaching his daughter’s softball teams throughout her adolescent years and instilled many great qualities and talents in her. He continued his support throughout her high school and college years, as he watched from the stands and was her biggest fan. Victor was also a very talented carpenter and skillful handyman who taught and passed along many of those skills to his son. With these skills, Victor was able to build and restore the home he and his family have lived in the past 30 years. He was an avid Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys fan and relished the many years he was able to take his rod and reel to the bay for a day of fishing with his son. Victor will be remembered as a very loving and supportive man, father, and husband. His resiliency, kindness, love, strength and zest for life has left a legacy. He battled his disease among other inflicting illnesses day in and day out, but continued to persevere for his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was the beloved “Popo Victor” to his grandchildren and loved his family unconditionally. May Victor Gutierrez Rocha finally rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him.
